Chair partially wrapped with one ball of garden twine. Used course string before for its resemblance to hair/as a kind of bodily extension or reference.
Crocheted Bodies (2010)
For these reasons I have always wanted to use flax. Bought some to experiment.
Feel this is a really successful photo. Becoming more an interest in the
lines of these chair frames. Harsh black intertwined with soft, silvery
wisps of flax or tautly wound string.

Lines in space
Lino print from photographic detail of twine chair. Again, fragmentation! But also unity; the chair is bound, partially reformed by the string. Security/insecurity. Strength/fragility.
