In researching Yayoi Kusama for an essay, I stumbled upon an exhibition at the Mattress Factory, and subsequently this piece by Spike Wolff.  It reminded me of the layers of netting that I projected onto in the Gone Series. Light becomes shadow; almost the opposite to Lygia Pape's search for white from black, here  evanescent light becomes tangible black, in a way similar to my use of the characteristic light-shapes cast through the windows and collapsed blinds in my degree show space.

"I give a solid shape to what seemingly escapes in time and space. For a mere fragment of a second the shape grows motionless with desire which forces us forward and urges our souls beyond our own horizons."
